While in New York we made sure we caught Chris Johanson's show at Deitch Projects gallery on Wooster Street, which wasn't far from where we were staying. The exhibition is a large installation incorporating a wooden structure built from found wood and his paintings organised in a specific fashion, mostly, bizarrely in front of one another. While in NYC we took a trip over to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to visit the Cinders Gallery. The show that was on was Swirl of Swarm by Mel Kadel and Suzanne Sattler. In the new Issue 19 of Modart I interview Phlegm Comics. Here is a recent time lapse video (as mentioned in the intro to the interview) of him painting at The House Skatepark in his hometown of Sheffield UK.

Zine Swap is an initiative/event that is setting up an archive of zines and is providing a resource for zine makers to trade their zines. The ZineSwap launch is happening next Saturday November 1st in London with Zine swapping commencing at 3pm. They'll be DJs throughout the day and bands playing from 8pm.
