My other half Chris was asked by folk/punk/whatever-you-wanna-call-it musician Frank Turner to design the cover for his new album which is out tomorrow (Monday 7th September). Earlier in the year Frank emailed Chris some demos and we met up with him before a gig in Birmingham so they could discuss the themes and ideas in the album and Chris could get to work.

Chris made two lino prints especially for the album called 'Poetry of the Deed', one for the front and one for the back of the album. After a long wait, it was great to finally get a copy of the album the other day, just ahead of its official release.

A new exhibition opens this Friday 11/09/09 at the Vaad Gallery at The Custard Factory in Birmingham. It's the third Inkygoodness show called 'Wonderland'. Inkygoodness was set up to provide "a platform for emerging talent to showcase their work alongside more established artists," and this show features a great bunch of artists and illustrators including Adi Gilbert (who recently got in touch telling me about the show) and Karoline Rerrie whose involvement in some excellent zines I've blogged about before.

One not to miss!

I've been crazy busy the past few weeks. As well as working on a new book I've been helping to organise the 2nd Vintage & Craft Fair in Worcester which is finally taking place this Saturday 3rd October. It's a mix of vintage clothing stalls and handmade art/craft by independent designers/artists/makers. I'm not having an actual stall myself this time but have been in charge of designing posters, doing the promotion/press releases etc, looking after the blog, and this time designing and screenprinting some official tote bags.
