If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping yet and want to buy your friends and fam some unique, handmade items direct from the artists/makers then seek out some of the amazing talented folk selling their wares! There's an opportunity to do this in London tomorrow at the Designer Maker Christmas Sale on Saturday 19th at St Aloysius Social Club where there'll be a many-a fantastic gift to chose from:

If you can't get to that fair then how about looking for gifts from some of the artists who've been featured in Modart over the years? You could browse through the Modart Gallery for starters? Most of the artists have websites and online shops. Supporting artists and buying handmade art and gifts is a great way to counter balance crappy, generic Christmas commercialism!
The roving exhibition that is The Joyful Bewilderment featuring so many great international artists it'll make your eyes water, is now on show at The Here And Now gallery in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK. The show is up until 21st Feb. Continue reading for all the info yoinked from the Here & Now's flickr page with pics from the exhib which is HERE

As usual we exchanged some lovely art based books this Christmas, including the above, one of my presents to Chris: a selection of work by artist Daniel Martin Diaz. It's a wonderfully put together book, it feels high quality and the work inside is incredible. Very detailed drawings, oil paintings and prints on themes of death, human suffering, faith and mysticism, so right up Chris's alley and unsurprisingly he was rather pleased with it. For images from inside the book check out its page on Diaz's website HERE, you won't be disappointed! For more art related book prezzies, click 'continue reading' below.
