Christmas Art Books

As usual we exchanged some lovely art based books this Christmas, including the above, one of my presents to Chris: a selection of work by artist Daniel Martin Diaz. It's a wonderfully put together book, it feels high quality and the work inside is incredible. Very detailed drawings, oil paintings and prints on themes of death, human suffering, faith and mysticism, so right up Chris's alley and unsurprisingly he was rather pleased with it. For images from inside the book check out its page on Diaz's website HERE, you won't be disappointed! For more art related book prezzies, click 'continue reading' below.

I also got Chris the above, the new, intriguing Robert Crumbbook: his visual depictions of the Bible's book of Genesis. I also got him this independent comic anthology about the police called Excessive Force, published by Last Hours. Last Hours are an: "online and occasional print zine for the anti-authoritarian, DIY and punk communities. It offers news, analysis, interviews and articles about radical culture, be it music, protests, events, books, zines or comix. The site is created by people involved with, and part of, the DIY, punk and anti-authoritarian communities. "
They produce some pretty cool publications and we've had copies of their print zine before. Great stuff!

On Christmas day we tucked into our usual tasty vegan roasty dinner, Chris did a particularly good job on the roast potatoes this year and we even had chestnuts with it which were very deelish:
