Miss Van has just released two new giclee prints on watercolor paper. The first (image above) is based on an old school painting of her poupees from her first show at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in LA. The other, 'She-Wolf', is from her new painting that is being shown at the current 5 Year Anniversary Show at Jonathan Levine Gallery in NYC. Check out both the prints at the Princesas Market site.

Artaq is the first International art competition focused entirely on Urban or Street Art including painting, sculpture, photography, digital works, or site specific and performances. Six winners will be selected to exhibit in Angers along with being part of the first Artaq book and putting together a traveling exhibition that will be in Angers, Paris, Brussels, London, Lyon, and Rome. The stenciling duo Sten & Lex will be opening their newest show tomorrow, March 12th, at the Co2 Gallery in Rome. This is only the second time this gallery has shown any "street artists." Having seen Sten & Lex's work in person we can only imagine the response will be nothing short of outstanding.

This Friday, March 12th in LA Armsrock and Imminent Disaster will be opening their collab show entitled 'Refuge.' These two artists will be creating a full installation inside Thinkspace Gallery highlighting the fragility and temporary nature of any refuge we create for ourselves. They're both incredibly hard working artists and we can only imagine their work will join together perfectly for this show.

All of us here at Modart are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sigi von Koeding aka Dare TWS. The Swiss graffiti legend passed away the evening of March 6th, 2010 after a hard battle with cancer. Our condolences go out to all of his family, friends, and legions of fans. Legends never die and the massive body of work he created in his lifetime will outlive us all.
