DB Taps

dbtaps3sm.jpg
The train painting monster, Taps, painted this "panel" a few months back in Munich. Far from the usual whole cars blasters and enormous panel pieces he's known for he simply painted the doors to look like windows and the windows next to it to look like a door. Just fucking great. Done so well he fooled even the driver. This is the work of a man who really knows his transit. Read on for more pics. (via ilovegraffiti)

Jordan Seiler is "Taking From the Tip Jar"

VincentMichaelsend.jpg
After a few years of large scale organizational projects and other collaborative efforts Jordan Seiler will be opening up his first solo show in 5 years at the Vincent Michael Gallery on November 5th in Philadelphia. 'Taking From the Tip Jar' will include new works, 16 multimedia drawings, a small video installation, and a few street pieces. Anyone familiar with Seiler's work knows that some sort of outdoor advertising has to be challenged with anything he does and this show is no exception. All of the drawings are framed in phone booth advertising structures procured from the streets of NY over the past few months.

The Underbelly Project

UNDERBELLY-popup.jpg
The Underbelly Project has hit the Internet as if Paris Hilton had murdered Michael Jackson. The Sunday Times Magazine in London was the first to drop the story, then the New York Times featured it on the front page of the Arts Section on Monday. This underground hidden art exhibition below New York City's streets, organized by PAC and Workhorse, took two years of planning and executing, over 100 artists involvement, only a handful of photographers and journalists to document it all, and nanoseconds for people to start praising and talking shit about it all over the Internet. The amount of publicity it's gotten has obviously stirred up some emotions but emotions aside it's undeniable that the dedication, planning, and execution of it all is unbelievable. This is one for the history books, hands down. We can't wait for the website to be more developed and we'll simply leave the speculations about the who, what, when, where, how to all the other blogs (especially ones that allow comments), but for now you can check out the official and officially vague website HERE. The NY Times article is available to read online HERE, and we highly recommend you read it. You have to sign up for the site but it's free and only requires that you put in an email address and a password. You can check the video of the project without signing up HERE as well.
