Sainte-Machine expo in Bordeaux

French graphic collective Sainte-Machine is currently having a very interesting show called "Logorrhée Publique" at the museum of contemporary art (CAPC) in Bordeaux, France. 10 artists who went to school together and spread out all over the country after art college come together once again for a fascinating group exhibition.

To link the works from everyone - even though they're all working in different disciplines (silkscreen printing, drawing, painting, graffiti, video art, photography, typography,...) - the artists chose to work around key words: verbs, sometimes invented, that help express the meaning of the artworks. Even though every work is constructed very conceptually in its own visual language, this underlying theme of verbs glues the show together. Luckily, I was given a personal tour by some of the contributing artists, because my French is nowhere near good enough to understand all of the clever hidden jokes, puns and underlying meanings :) If you're a French speaker and interested in graphic arts, you can't miss this exhibition!
You can find more information on the expo and projects of the collective on the Sainte-Machine website or on the CAPC website. Both websites are in French.
Sainte-Machine: "Logorrhée Publique", running until December 2nd at CAPC, 7 Rue Ferrère, Bordeaux, France. Open from Tue > Sun, 11 > 18h. Contributions by Nelson Bishop, John Bobaxx, Dellastrada, Fanny Garcia, Grems Supermicro, Kolona, Moam, Jack Usine, Virassamy and Warkshop.
