Talita Hoffman "Campos e Antenas"
We just got word from our friend Ana Ferraz in Porto Alegre about a great exhibition, Campos e Antenas (Fields and Antennas), by the artist Talita Hoffman. The show will be up through May 31st at the Museu do Trabalho. Ana explains more about the artist and the space and she sent plenty of visual treats to back it all up.

Campos e Antenas (Fields and Antennas) is the first solo exhibition from the Porto Alegre-based artist Talita Hoffman. The show is taking place at Museu do Trabalho, one of the first spaces in Brazil to show works from artists related to underground subcultures including independent comics, such as artists like Fabio Zimbres and Jaca. Talita’s show is the result of the second edition of A Novíssima Geração (The Newest Generation), a program grouping young artists together in a group exhibition and then selecting one of them for a solo exhibition. Campos e Antenas will be up until May 31st and displays 13 acrylic on paper paintings as well as a mural. All the work is related to her favorite subject: a universe of dreams inspired by nature.
Talita (20 years old) is an artist, illustrator and graphic design student. She has participated in group exhibitions around the world such as Trimassa, a show of Porto Alegre artists at Choque Cultural, São Paulo; Surfacing at Hibbleton Gallery in California; The Candycult Project at Breadbox gallery, Australia; The Helsinki Biennale in Finland; and The Ocho Project from Rojo magazine, Barcelona. Her major influences come from situations of everyday life, the people around her, the city, animals, nature, music and artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, Henri Rousseau, Frida Kahlo, Niko Pirosmani, Aparecida Azevedo, Talita’s work often tell us intricate stories with unique characters, all seeming to come from disturbed child nightmares.
