Art Brut Barcelona

Aryz%26Ripo_118-096.jpg
Last Saturday, March 27th, Art Brut Barcelona saw nearly twenty artists from three generations of the Barcelona graffiti and street art scenes come together to spend the day painting six walls at the Tres Chimineas park. Gustavo Osorio was on hand to capture some beautiful moments from the event. No New Enemies members Ripo, Tara Tiel aka Ovni, and Boris Hoppek were all in attendance along with Sixe, Zosen, Aryz, Mister, Debens, Dios, Hawaii Computers Crew, Lolo, Sosaku, Villas, Kafre, and Sakristan. The walls will all stay on view until time takes its toll. Read on for more photos and also check out Gustavo Osorio's full photo report on his website: silvergelatine.com

Dogsled the Iceberg

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

The Dutch artist Ap Verheggen has installed an unbelievable metal sculpture inspired by Inuit Dogsleds on an iceberg in Greenland. The sculpture will shift and eventually fall into the ocean, showing the visible effects of climate change. Ephemeral, enormous, site specific, and calling to attention an important global issue. We love it. Check out more (and follow the progress of the piece via webcam) on their website: www.coolemotion.org

Escif: 'Around the Wall'

Escif_Press%20Release1.jpg
Escif's work always hits us where it should. It's deceivingly simple while at the same time making some very poignant remarks and... how do I put this? It's fucking beautifully done. So needless to say we're happy to hear he'll be opening a major solo show, 'Around The Wall,' at Pictures On Walls in London next Friday, April 16th.

Deckades in Bristol

Deckades_A5%20flyer_header.jpg
This Saturday, April 17th the howie's shop in Bristol will be opening up the Deckades show. While it's not anything groundbreaking, a show of vintage and hand painted skateboards, what we've seen of the hand painted boards so far looks sick. Jim Phillips, Will Barras, Mr. Jago, Geoff Mcfetridge, Danny Wainwright, Pete Fowler, and plenty more all have pieces in the show. All of the boards will be sold on an online auction to benefit Unicef as well. You can already check out some of the pieces on howie's website here.

Dale Grimshaw Opening

Dale%20Grimshaw%20three%20of%20swords.jpg
Dale Grimshaw's show opened last week at Signal Gallery and from the sound (and look) of it it lived up to all expectations. We got a few nice shots sent to us including one of the outside wall that Dale hit up while in the midst of the madness. The show is up through May 1st, so get your ass down there if you haven't already.

Just got a report from David Shillinglaw who's been an artist in residence at HeadSpace in Nara, Japan for the past few weeks. He's been busy setting up his exhibition for the HeadSpace Event in Osaka this Saturday, April 17th, painting walls in Tokyo at Design Festa Gallery, and keeping an online journal of everything. It's got it all: paintings, walls, booze, noodles, funny signs, and girls flashing peace signs.

Cualquier Lugar, Un Dia Cualquiera

Kenor just sent us this beautiful video, 'Cualquier Lugar, Un Dia Cualquiera' (Any Place, Any Day) from inside an abandoned building. Just look at how he starts the piece and what he can do with a single can of black spray paint. The editing compliments it all perfectly.

Thierry Furger's 'Buffed Paintings'

headerPortfolio_Thierry11%20copy.jpg
Thierry Furger's 'Buffed Paintings' show opened last month at Galerie ArtSeefeld in Zurich. He's done a great job at translating the aesthetics and concepts behind working in the streets into high quality works in a gallery setting, something that we've seen a lot of other street and graffiti artists struggle with when moving their work indoors.. Ruedione got a great slideshow up of the show, check it out here. The closing is this Saturday, April 24th. If you haven't made it yet go check it out.

Above and Blek Le Rat have both released videos of their studios ahead of the opening of 'Faces in the Mirror' and 'Transitions' at White Walls Gallery in San Francisco.
